Professional Objectives

To use my extended and ever growing knowledge of the music industry to promote my career as an original recording and touring musician, as well as, educate those around me to do the same in line with their career goals whenever possible.



Education / Private Study

Craig Tomanini – is a self-taught drummer with heavy ties to R&B as well as to Jazz. His experiences stem mainly from a deep devotion to music and a love to play whenever possible.

Formal Accomplishments:

  • 1983 – Took formal piano lessons as a beginning point to the fundamentals of music for 2 years.
  • 1984 – Began playing Latin and Middle Eastern style percussion instruments such as the Conga, Bongo, Doumbek and Dejembe.
  • 1985 – Began playing drum set as primary instrument with a focus on Jazz and R&B.
  • 1990- Completed high school at Worcester Vocational Technical High School – with an emphasis on Jazz Band, Marching Band and a continued focus on piano for composition...



Extended Study

  • November 1991-March 2001- Improvisation with various band projects.
  • Mar - Sept. 2001- studied harmony with vocal coach Alfredo Rios.
  • Volunteer Work with various organizations
  • 2003 – 2006 Volunteer Time - The Colorado Springs Conservatory during the “What Art Means” program in which the children in the program learned various aspects of the music business with a focus on how to organize and promote a rock concert.

​About

I have been performing and touring throughout The United States at clubs, concert halls, concert series and festivals for over 25 years. Recent highlights include performing at The Colorado Springs World Arena for an over 7000-person audience. Completed National Tour of the Northwest US covering over 6 states and countless cities spanning almost 5 months in time.

Performing in various Ad-Hoc improvised groupings with local, national and internationally recognized artists.

Since 2001 I have been involved with the composition over 20 pieces for recording with the musical group The Nocturnal Tomatoes. Most of these compositions are being played and distributed throughout the country and released on my three CD and tape releases.



Projects and Collaborations

The Nocturnal Tomatoes – A progressive independent rock band out of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Performing and recording music to be seen and heard by whoever wants to hear it. The music and focus of this project was to secure a recording contract with a major or well-funded independent label.



The Green Room Rehearsal Complex and Live Music Venue – Is Colorado’s only 24/7 rehearsal complex and integrated live music venue solely created to support local music and provide a creative environment for musicians and all artists alike to do what they do without the distractions that normally surround the arts.

MoodSwings Acoustic Lounge – is a local music venue located in Colorado Springs, CO that caters to a music scene in desperate need of a place to perform without the distraction of a bar environment while at the same time providing young up and coming musicians a place to perfect their craft in a place designed to encourage and appreciate art.
